At Alliance we have the capacity to conduct up to 100 soil pre-treatment and artificial weathering samples at any one time to TfNSW RMS test methods.
Soil Pre-Treatment – This method is appropriate for soft or brittle materials used in earthworks and pavement construction, which are liable to break down during weathering, compaction and trafficking (e.g. shales, siltstones, highly weathered or weakly cemented material).
Artificial Weathering – This test method sets out the procedure for pre-treating road construction materials by subjecting the material to cyclic wetting and drying and simulates the breakdown of potentially unstable material under environmental and service conditions. This method is used where the resistance of the road construction material to weathering is suspect e.g. shale’s, siltstones and other soft laminated or jointed rocks.
