GEOTECHNICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS
When constructing piles for a foundation, the underlying geology found on-site may vary from the assumed geological model used during the design. As part of the construction process for bored piles, a geotechnical engineer is often required on-site to verify the encountered ground conditions are as per the design assumptions.
The geotechnical engineer will ensure that the following criteria are satisfied during the construction of the pile:
• Pile socket material and length
• Pile base/shaft cleanliness
A geotechnical report is completed on-site and issued immediately. Where there are variations from the original assumptions, the engineer will assist in providing advice on-site or work with the designer to create a solution which will allow the works to continue.
